Jan Potgieter
From a young age I have enjoyed working with my hands. Some of my projects include crafting canoes, a hand made pistol and various tipes of jewelry. In 1980 I started making knives and then in 1983 I sold my first folding knife and now specialise in folding knives only. In 1985 I became a member of the Knifemakers Guild of South Africa. I was awarded for the best folder at the Knife Makers Guild Show, several times. My goal has always been to make a knife with zero defects. At the age of 62 I enjoy making folding knives more than ever before and my first choice of knife remains the backlock.

The material used is what ever is available. On the blades mainly 440C, ATS34, 12C27 and Stainless Damasteel from Sweden. Handle material, the most beautifull indigenous woods you can wish for, several tipes of horn and bone, ivory and Mammoth ivory on special request.
