Hilton Purvis joined the Guild in 1987 as a scrimshander, and has previously edited "Edgehog", the Guild newsletter. Fifteen years experience in business IT systems has resulted in his working as a freelance journalist! He is married, to Loretta, and lives in Noordhoek, Cape Town with a wonderful view of the Atlantic Ocean as inspiration. Their interests include travel, travel, travel, and food!

David Brown and his wife, Jill, live in Tableview, Cape Town. Having had a passion for computers from an early age, he completed his Honours degree in 2001 and now works as a Developer at Mosaic Software (UK) Ltd. The son of a knifemaker, he has grown up in the "knife world" and is now combining his computer skills and interest in knives to produce kgsa.co.za.
